the clouds above spell out my name
above the forest line
the leaves seem to have lost their place
like i've lost mine
Daniel left his pub
he's searching for something else to find
complains he's had enough
of people stealing off his time

but then he saw the rain
glitter in the night
he said he'd do it all again
he'd see with different eyes

as i walk the lonely path
through the forest by the creek
i have trouble looking back
at what the world doesn't see
but i'll trust in something more
while the stars shine brilliantly

i wonder if we'll go back
to the way things used to be
where simple was the math
and every bitter heart turned sweet

from the outside, looking out
in sickness or in health
this thing spins on without a doubt

and its brighter than the sun

i saw the world tip his hat
tilt his head and take a seat
we found the sun behind the trees
as he put his life back in the leaves

and i swear i saw Daniel
sitting down smiling at me
